LG Display is hosting the digital art exhibition "Art Wave" through November 7 at the Seongsu-dong complex cultural space "Scène" in Seoul.
Now in its third year, Art Wave is a project that promotes the differentiated value of OLEDs through the combination of art and technology and provides various creation and exhibition opportunities for emerging artists in Korea and abroad.
Under the theme of "LONG DREAM," five Korean and international artists, including Koo Ki-jeong, Song Ye-hwan, STUDIO ARTECH, and Jonathan Monaghan, used a total of 16 OLEDs, including 88-77-inch ultra-large OLEDs and transparent OLEDs, to capture a "utopia that connects virtuality and reality with light and color."
LG Display's OLED panels are said to be the optimal digital canvas, with overwhelming color reproduction and perfect blacks that accurately embody the artist's intentions without distortion or exaggeration.
LG Display's transparent OLEDs, which are the only ones in mass production, are being recognized as an innovative canvas that can realize artworks in three dimensions beyond the limits of conventional displays.
"LG Display's unique form factors, such as ultra-large and transparent OLEDs, allowed us to showcase new digital art techniques that were previously difficult to try," said the artists who participated in the exhibition.
Previously, LG Display has been conducting various art projects to showcase the excellence of OLEDs, including the "PIXELBLOOM: Timeless Butterflies" exhibition at the ARTECHOUSE in Washington, D.C. in March, which featured immersive works utilizing transparent OLEDs.
