Hyundai Motor Group hosted the 8th Mobility Innovators Forum 2023 at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, California, providing a platform for mobility innovators to gather and exchange ideas.
The Mobility Innovators Forum, initially held at Stanford University in 2016, now celebrates its eighth year. It has evolved into a significant event, drawing innovators, startups, government officials, investors, and other mobility industry stakeholders.
This year's event, organized by Cradle, Hyundai Motor Group's innovation hub in Silicon Valley, was themed 'Re-Vision & Re-Value.' The forum aimed to encourage reflection on the vision and values of the mobility industry and share insights on future human-centered mobility innovations.
Hyundai Motor Group's commitment to fostering innovation globally is evident through its innovation centers called CRADLE, located in five countries: the U.S., Germany, Israel, China, and Singapore. The group also operates ZER01NE in Korea, which serves as a platform for open innovation.
Distinguished speakers at the forum included Heung-Soo Kim, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group's Global Strategy Office (GSO), Marc Raibert, CEO of Boston Dynamics AI Lab, Ken Goldberg, a roboticist and professor at UC Berkeley, and Gary Silberg, global automotive leader at KPMG.
The forum featured experts from various fields who engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics, such as robotics, autonomous driving, the evolving role of software developers in shaping the future of mobility, entrepreneurship, and strategies for future mobility investments.
Furthermore, Hyundai Motor Group organized a startup booth, allowing domestic and international startups with whom they collaborate or invest to showcase their innovative technologies and products while interacting with the forum's participants.
In his opening remarks, Heung-Soo Kim, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group, noted that the theme of the forum, 'Re-Vision & Re-Value,' represents a collective journey of reflection on the past and anticipation of the future. He emphasized that the forum provided an opportunity for participants to challenge their own visions and ask critical questions.
