Participating in the Dubai Airshow, the largest exhibition in the Middle East, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) aims to showcase its Korean-made aircraft and K-Space from November 13 to 17 (local time).
The 34th edition of the Dubai Airshow features over 1,400 aviation and defense companies from more than 20 countries. Among them, more than 180 military and commercial aircraft will be on display, engaging in demonstration flights.
KAI's exhibition at the event will spotlight its flagship aircraft, including the KF-21, FA-50, LAH, and Surion. Additionally, the company will present its future projects and the K-Space lineup, featuring the Multipurpose Transport Aircraft (MC-X) and next-generation medium and small SAR satellites.
A significant focus for KAI during the airshow will be the introduction of its next-generation air combat system to the Middle East market. This system incorporates a manned and unmanned composite system, regarded as a game-changer for the future battlefield, applied to both fixed-wing and rotary-wing flagship aircraft.
Particularly noteworthy is the international debut of the domestic helicopter Surion and the small armored helicopter LAH at the air show. These helicopters, participating in an overseas air show for the first time, demonstrated their excellence on the world stage through test flights.
Having departed the Sichuan headquarters on October 28, Surion and LAH arrived in Dubai, UAE, on October 29. Subsequently, they underwent aircraft assembly, inspection, maintenance test flights, and pre-airshow practice and rehearsal flights.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Surion has garnered attention in overseas markets with over 250 helicopters produced and in service with the Army and Marine Corps, along with various derivatives serving police, coast guard, firefighting, and forestry needs. Its performance excellence and reliability are key factors contributing to its international appeal.
Meanwhile, the LAH, intended to replace the 500MD Tow and AH-1S attack helicopters, is currently in mass production. It is set to fulfill the Army's missions of air strike operations and air assault protection.
At the airshow, Surion and LAH are anticipated to showcase challenging and special maneuvers, capturing the attention of the global aerospace and defense industry.
Throughout the event, KAI plans to engage in discussions on business cooperation and create new opportunities with senior government officials, as well as land, sea, and air forces from the Middle East and Africa, including the UAE.
