Vancouver- Breaking new ground in international business partnerships, the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada unveils an innovative initiative that puts Canadian women entrepreneurs at the forefront. The public and private sectors in Canada, South Korea and Thailand are joining forces to promote "Smarter Living," a groundbreaking all-women Canadian business mission scheduled for November 26 to December 1, 2023.

The mission kicks off in Bangkok from November 26 to 28, followed by a dynamic finale in Seoul from November 29 to December 1. This strategic move is designed to capitalize on the burgeoning market opportunities in South Korea and Thailand, with a particular focus on key sectors such as cleantech, healthcare, and information and communications technology (ICT). Both countries have strategically targeted these industries and offer enticing incentives for joint growth.

As part of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada's ambitious 2023-2025 mission series entitled "Northeast X Southeast: Advancing Partnerships Between Canada and Asia," this is the seventh installment of the Women's Business Missions to Asia series. The mission aims to highlight the innovations of Canadian women entrepreneurs in the cleantech, health tech and ICT sectors.

The goal is clear: to build strong economic relationships between Canadian women entrepreneurs and businesses in South Korea and Thailand. By promoting gender-inclusive trade, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and catalyzing international partnerships, the mission aims to have a lasting impact on the Canadian business landscape.

Supported by contributions from the Government of Canada through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, the Canadian Women-only Business Mission will feature public conferences with distinguished speakers from government, business and academia. Discussions will focus on bilateral and regional trade issues, gender inclusion in business, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with the goal of promoting women's economic empowerment.

The 21 delegates participating in the mission will engage in one-on-one business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, company pitches, and networking opportunities. This strategic approach is designed to facilitate meaningful connections between Canadian women entrepreneurs and their counterparts in South Korea and Thailand.

At a time when international collaboration is paramount, the Smarter Living Mission not only showcases the strength of Canadian businesses but also creates a platform for women to take the lead in shaping the future of international trade. The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, together with its partners, envisions a transformative journey that will not only open new doors for Canadian businesses but also contribute to the broader narrative of global economic cooperation.
