Montreal - Taiga Motors Corporation, Canada's premier electric powersports company, today announced its exclusive personal watercraft (PWC) partnership with the UIM E1 World Championship. This championship, recognized as the world's premier all-electric powerboat racing event, marks a significant step toward a cleaner, more technologically advanced era in marine sports.

The inaugural race of the E1 World Championship is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on February 2 and 3, 2024. The season will feature races in some of the world's most iconic waterfront cities, with the full schedule to be announced shortly.

Sam Bruneau, CEO and co-founder of Taiga Motors, expressed his excitement for the partnership, saying, "We are thrilled to be working with E1 in our shared mission to advance sustainable on-water adventures through cutting-edge electric technologies. In anticipation of the upcoming E1 World Championship, we look forward to showcasing Taiga's OrcaTM watercraft.

The championship will feature up to 10 teams racing identical RaceBird boats featuring groundbreaking hydrofoil technology. Teams will navigate challenging courses, reaching speeds of up to 58 mph (98 km/h). After knockout rounds, only one team will emerge as the E1 champion, the Champions of the Water.

Celebrities from the entertainment and sports worlds, including DJ Steve Aoki and NFL quarterback Tom Brady, have recently joined E1 as team owners, alongside sports icon Rafael Nadal. Their involvement underscores a commitment not only to entertain fans, but also to inspire future generations to innovate and create a more sustainable future.

E1 World Championship founders Rodi Basso and Alejandro Agag designed the event to further their mission of promoting clean technology and decarbonizing the recreational boating industry. In addition, they have launched the Blue Impact program to restore polluted coastal habitats around the world, which aligns seamlessly with Taiga Motors' commitment to sustainability and a cleaner future.

Welcoming Taiga Motors as E1's exclusive PWC supplier, Basso expressed his excitement, "We are thrilled to be working with Taiga Motors, a brand that shares our passion for sustainability in the context of racing and entertainment. E1 fans can look forward to discovering Taiga's electric PWCs.

As the world shifts toward sustainable technologies, Taiga Motors and E1 are leading the charge for a greener future in boating.
