Waterloo, Ontario - Teledyne DALSA announced the commencement of production for its AxCIS™ family of fully integrated line scan imaging modules on November 30. These Contact Image Sensors (CIS) are designed to meet the demands of high-speed, high-resolution line scan applications in machine vision. The AxCIS modules seamlessly combine sensors, lenses, and lights in one compact unit, presenting a cost-effective inspection solution for various industrial applications.
Fueled by Teledyne's advanced multiline CMOS image sensors, AxCIS achieves unparalleled image quality. It boasts impressive features, including up to 120 kHz line rates for monochrome imaging or 60 kHz x 2 for HDR imaging, with a pixel size of 28 µm or 900 dpi resolution. This level of precision enables the detection of defects with exceptional accuracy.
The unique sensor design covers the entire field of view without missing pixels, ensuring a 100% seamless image without interpolation. For HDR imaging, dual rows with independent exposure control enhance detectability for highly reflective materials and improve dynamic range. Beyond defect detection, AxCIS supports true metrology applications due to its innovative design.
Designed with scalability in mind, AxCIS accommodates various fields of view with a single 24V power supply. Its compact form factor and IP60 dust-proof design make it versatile, fitting into systems with limited vertical clearance. The Camera Link HS SFP+ fiber optic interface ensures high-throughput data transfer over standard low-cost, long-length cables, with immunity to EMI radiation for operation in harsh industrial environments.
