The funding has enabled the Germany-based Web3 gaming company to acquire the world’s leading and busiest NFT platform Atomic Hub to be deployed on the Hedera network

BERLIN, GERMANY - Spielworks, a leading blockchain gaming startup bridging Web3 and traditional gaming, announced on December 12 that it has received strategic funding from The Hashgraph Association (THA), the Swiss-based non-profit organization accelerating the widespread adoption of the Hedera network worldwide.

The funding enabled Spielworks to acquire Atomic Hub, the world's busiest NFT platform and one-stop solution for creating, trading, buying, and selling NFTs. In doing so, Spielworks is scaling its business and further developing the Web3 gaming ecosystem globally, utilizing Hedera’s high-performance and open-source public ledger. The funding will foster collaboration in the space, increasing the number of Web3 gaming developers building on Hedera while unlocking new value for gamers around the world.

Through this strategic funding, THA will facilitate Spielworks in its mission to create the gold standard of Web3 gaming. This encompasses a singular ecosystem for game distribution, publishing, development, and trading, where social status, value accumulation, and interoperability revolutionize how gamers play. THA will further enable Spielworks with support in areas such as business development, commercialisation, technology development, and future funding, with the ambition of offering gamers the lowest transaction fees and further increasing the network utilization of Hedera.

Adrian Krion, CEO of Spielworks, said: "Through THA’s funding and our newly-established connection to Hedera, we gain a ton of additional exposure to high-profile, large-scale partners and a thriving ecosystem based on massively scalable technology. Working with the next generation of game developers shaping the future of this industry, we’re happy to extend to them the benefits of Hedera’s leading-edge distributed ledger technology."

Spielworks’ Web3 push brings the benefits of blockchain to mass-market gaming. This includes true ownership of in-game digital assets, secure handling of tokens associated with games, and verified and reliable interactions with blockchain game providers. THA’s commitment and expertise will enable Spielworks to explore ways of incorporating Hedera’s technology into this offering, empowering it to strive for groundbreaking game models and true play-to-earn economics within the burgeoning gaming ecosystem on the Hedera network.

Kamal Youssefi, President of The Hashgraph Association, said: “Spielworks’ mission is aligned with our overall drive to share the significant benefits of Hedera’s distributed ledger technology (DLT) with the gaming community. The funding will allow us to educate, scale, and build an interactive Hedera-powered gaming environment with Spielworks, enabling more users in an already flourishing Web3 gaming community. We’re confident that bolstering the use of Hedera and showcasing the varying applications of the technology will exhibit the transformative potential it holds across the gaming industry as one of the most exciting industries in tech due to its significance to culture, entertainment, and technological advancement.”

Hedera is an open-source, proof-of-stake network that empowers the next generation of the web. Hedera has been specifically designed to meet the needs of corporate and Web3 applications, which require enterprise-grade performance, security, stability, and transparent governance, all on a low-carbon footprint public network with the lowest predictable fees. Hedera’s robust ecosystem is built by a global community, on a network governed by the Hedera Council - a group of industry-leading organizations that are diversified by industry, geography, and term limits.
