As the orchestrator of this groundbreaking synergy, About:Energy will breathe life into the universities' proprietary marvel, DandeLiion - a groundbreaking, ultra-fast system meticulously designed to streamline and enhance the intricacies of modeling advanced electrochemical battery systems. Through a symbiotic fusion with its cutting-edge software platform, The Voltt, About:Energy is poised to not only slash costs and development timelines, but also usher in a new era of enhanced battery management that will extend battery life in the field.

Derived from the esteemed research institutions of Imperial College London and the University of Birmingham, About:Energy plans to introduce the integrated DandeLiion into its software suite for the global market by early next year. This integration will not only strengthen the mathematical underpinnings of battery models, but also pave the way for widespread adoption of advanced electrochemical models. These sophisticated models, integral to cell design and fast charging, provide deep insight into the complex physical processes within a cell, optimizing overall performance and efficiency.

Neil Morris, chairman and co-founder of About:Energy, emphasized the critical role of bridging the gap between academic excellence and tangible industry impact. He highlighted the collaboration with academic powerhouses such as Southampton and Portsmouth, turning UK grant funding into a catalyst for real innovation and economic growth.

About:Energy's commitment to harnessing and commercialising cutting-edge research from universities is reinforced by this latest announcement, which marks the formal licensing of technology from five prominent institutions, including Cranfield University, Imperial College London and the University of Birmingham.

Dr. Giles Richardson, Project Manager at DandeLiion, expressed his excitement at partnering with About:Energy to bring its breakthrough battery modeling technology to market. Highlighting its ability to deliver faster, more accurate simulations and broader application in cloud and embedded systems, Dr. Richardson anticipates that the integration of DandeLiion into About:Energy's platform will catalyze unprecedented advances in energy storage and management across the automotive and renewable energy sectors. He is proud to see their research being translated into real-world impact, supporting the trajectory of electrification and a sustainable future.

The genesis of DandeLiion, an innovative battery modeling technology, spans several years of dedicated research led by Prof. Giles Richardson, Dr. Jamie Foster, Dr. Ivan Korotkin and Dr. Smita Sahu. This groundbreaking work, backed by a £2 million cash injection over five years from The Faraday Institution, sets the stage for a paradigm shift in battery technology.
