South Korea's National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) announced on Dec. 14 that its Nonghyup Smart Work technology, developed with its own proprietary technology, was finally granted a patent on Dec. 6 after applying for the patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) last year.
The patent covers a technology that enables Nonghyup employees to access a cloud-based work environment with tablet PCs, laptops, etc. anytime, anywhere, and safely perform the same level of work as a company work PC. NACF explained that its know-how is to fully comply with the high level of financial security laws and regulations.
A reliable work environment is also essential for remote workplaces, such as agricultural and rural sites far from the office. NACF added that the technology provides a secure cloud workplace for safe and convenient daily work and collaboration.
The technology was introduced at the Microsoft Everywhere 2022 event last year as a best practice for hybrid work methods utilizing the cloud, and was evaluated as "the most suitable and secure technology for Korea's financial (security) environment" after receiving benchmarking requests from many companies including IT and financial companies.
"We will continue to strive to improve the digital work environment to enhance communication between employees and improve productivity, ultimately leading to the development of agriculture and rural areas and enhancing the convenience of farmers," said Ji Woo-ho, head of NACF's Digital Innovation Office.
