Tokyo- DM2C Studio, a subsidiary of DMM LLC, recently announced that it has successfully raised $2.3 million in a token convertible bond offering. The funding round was led by Galaxy Interactive, a prominent entertainment venture capital firm, and included a consortium of eight companies. This marks the first fundraising initiative for DM2C Studio, which is strategically positioned to pave the way for a robust global expansion of its Web3 business.
Fundraising for Web3 Vision
Founded in January 2023, DM2C Studio is a subsidiary of DMM, one of Japan's largest gaming companies. The studio's primary goal is to develop DMM's web3 business, which includes blockchain games and NFT projects. In June of the same year, DM2C Studio introduced the "Seamoon Protocol", a web3 project designed to provide a novel entertainment experience in the digital realm through its distinctive tokens. Today, December 20th, the studio released the white paper for the Seamoon Protocol on its official website.
The cornerstone of this funding initiative is the desire for a comprehensive global rollout of the Seamoon Protocol. The studio successfully raised $2.3 million through a token convertible note sale led by Galaxy Interactive and joined by a consortium of esteemed partners. These included Shima Capital, Bitfinex, MARBLEX, SQUARE ENIX HOLDINGS CO., LTD., Planetarium Labs, Mask Network, and DeFimans Co., Ltd.
Strategic partnerships for global reach
The primary goal of the funding round was not only to secure financial backing, but also to form strategic partnerships with top-tier global companies. These partnerships are considered critical to the anticipated global expansion inherent in web3's business. Among the accepted consortium, notable participants include Galaxy Interactive, a leading force in venture capital, and SQUARE ENIX HOLDINGS CO., LTD. a renowned player in the gaming industry.
DM2C Studio plans to collaborate with its partners, including joint side events at major industry gatherings in Japan and abroad, joint Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions, and various promotional activities. The goal is to create a synergistic environment that fosters innovation and facilitates the global adoption of the "Seamoon Protocol".
