Samsung Electronics has unveiled plans to debut its latest kitchen products, applications, and features at CES® 2024.

These innovations, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and SmartThings connectivity, aim to create an ecosystem that enhances food and kitchen experiences.

Among the highlights in the lineup is the 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ Refrigerator with AI Family Hub™+, featuring the groundbreaking AI Vision Inside feature. This refrigerator, which initially launched as the industry's first home Internet of Things (IoT) refrigerator in 2016, introduces new technologies to elevate kitchen interactions.

“We are both proud and excited to be showcasing these upgraded AI and connectivity features, which utilize the latest technology to help everyone take their food and kitchen experiences to the next level,” said Moohyung Lee, EVP and Head of the Customer eXperience Team of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to letting users enjoy the many benefits of our innovative food ecosystem across a wide range of devices and features.”

The 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ Refrigerator stands out with the incorporation of AI Vision Inside, utilizing a smart internal camera to recognize items placed inside and outside the refrigerator.

Vision AI technology enhances the recognition capabilities, identifying up to 33 different fresh food items based on a vast dataset of approximately one million food photographs. The Family Hub™+ screen allows users to manually add expiration date information, and the refrigerator sends alerts through its 32” LCD screen before items reach their expiration date.

Additionally, the Fridge Manager feature assists users by monitoring the water filter status and providing one-click purchase options for replacements directly from Amazon via the Family Hub™+ screen.

Samsung extends its innovation to other kitchen appliances with the Anyplace Induction Cooktop and Slide-in Range, each equipped with a 7” LCD screen. These screens enable users to view selected and saved recipes from the Family Hub™+ to aid in meal preparation.

The Samsung Food application, accessible on the Family Hub™+, Anyplace Induction Cooktop, and Slide-in Range, introduces several upgraded AI features. The 'Personalize' feature, powered by enhanced Food AI, accommodates a broader range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, pescatarian, and dairy-free options. The 'Image-to-Recipe' feature with enhanced Vision AI recognizes meals and ingredients from photographs, offering diverse recipe options.

Samsung Food integrates with Samsung Health to suggest healthy recipes based on users' health information. Users can then easily send cooking instructions to their kitchen appliances. The Tap View feature enhances convenience by allowing users to mirror their Galaxy smartphones on the Family Hub™+ screen. Moreover, users can access YouTube and TikTok applications directly on the refrigerator screen for information and entertainment.

Those interested in experiencing the enhanced AI and connectivity of this food ecosystem can visit the Samsung booth at CES® 2024.
