LG Electronics announced on Dec. 28 that it will introduce the 2024 QNED TVs with an AI-based processor for vivid color reproduction, adding a 98-inch ultra-large lineup.
The α8 AI Processor applied to the 2024 LG QNED TV is 1.3 times stronger than the previous AI performance, enabling picture and sound quality worthy of an ultra-large TV. Graphics performance, such as on-screen text, faces, and textures, has been improved by 2.3 times, and processing speed, which is responsible for app loading speed, has been improved by 1.6 times.
In addition, the powerful AI Picture Pro identifies the genre of the video you're watching and the background of the screen to show it clearly. The personalized picture settings feature allows customers to select a few of their favorite pictures to get optimized and personalized picture quality.
AI Sound Pro technology converts 2-channel sound sources into virtual 9.1.2 channels for richer sound.
LG NED Evo with Mini LEDs provides 1 million brightness levels with 64 times better contrast than before. It also features 'precision dimming' technology that subdivides the screen into zones and adjusts the contrast in each zone for realistic picture quality.
They also feature a slim design. The QNED85 and QNED80 models are only 29mm thick, allowing them to blend in with living room interiors and be wall-mounted for space efficiency.
LG is running the webOS Renew program so that existing TV customers can enjoy the latest and most differentiated TV experience through OS upgrades. Customers who own the 2022 LG QNED Evo 8K Series can enjoy a differentiated experience with webOS, which will be upgraded over the next five years. This is the first time LG will upgrade its smart TV operating system.
The company has also added an extra-large QNED lineup. The 98-inch QNED TV, unveiled today, reflects customers' interest and needs for ultra-large and premium LCD TVs.
