Samsung's 'AI for All' vision unveiled at CES 2024/ Jong-Hee (JH) Han, vice chairman, CEO and head of Samsung's Device eXperience (DX) division, kicks off the press conference.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Samsung Electronics unveiled today  at CES 2024 its comprehensive strategy for leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance the connected device experience with a focus on safety, inclusivity and energy efficiency.

Jong-Hee (JH) Han, vice chairman, CEO and head of Samsung's Device eXperience (DX) division, kicked off the press conference by emphasizing how AI will subtly enhance daily life with connected technologies. The strategy revolves around AI's role in creating simplified and useful connected experiences. Throughout the presentation, Samsung showcased various products and services that leverage AI capabilities to improve users' lives.

AI-enabled visual display products and digital appliances transforming the home experience

Jonathan Gabrio, head of the Connected Experience Center at Samsung Electronics America, explained the transformative impact of AI on visual display products and digital appliances. The Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN900D, powered by the NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor, automatically upscales low-resolution content to 8K quality and enhances picture clarity with AI Motion Enhancer Pro. The TV also features Active Voice Amplifier Pro for an enhanced audio experience. Innovative accessibility features, such as sign language control and audio subtitles, cater to a variety of user needs.

Samsung introduced The Premiere 8K, a wireless projector with a 150-inch display that delivers a cinema-like experience at home. The Music Frame speaker, with customizable covers, syncs with Samsung TVs via Q-Symphony for enhanced bass and surround sound. The upgraded Ballie AI robot is a versatile companion that can perform tasks and project information on walls.

In the kitchen, the Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ Refrigerator with AI Family Hub™+ features AI Vision Inside, which recognizes and suggests recipes based on food. The Anyplace Induction range extends AI connectivity by sharing recipes from Samsung Food to the cooktop display.

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ provides an intuitive laundry management experience, personalizing cycles based on user habits. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™ vacuum and mop robot uses AI object recognition for effective cleaning.

Samsung Unveils Galaxy Book4 as Most AI-Ready Laptop Series

Samsung's collaboration with Microsoft elevates the Galaxy Book4 series and enhances the connected experience. Microsoft Copilot seamlessly integrates the Galaxy Book4 Series with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, enabling shared functionality. The laptop series turns Samsung Galaxy smartphones into PC webcams and offers various video calling features.

The Galaxy Book4 series expands connectivity to other Galaxy devices for a versatile and integrated PC experience.

Better Connecting Users and Devices through Spatial Intelligence

Jaeyeon Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, highlighted the impact of AI on the user-device relationship. Spatial AI plays a critical role in understanding living spaces and routines, enabling personalized home management experiences. SmartThings leverages LiDAR for digital floor plans and introduces 3D Map View for detailed experiences on Samsung smartphones and TVs.

SmartThings enhances security with AI capabilities that detect unusual circumstances and send alerts. The enhanced AI capabilities of the Bixby voice assistant make smart homes dynamic, routing commands based on user location and activity.

Samsung Daily+ service turns the TV into a central hub for smart home functions, offering video calls, veterinary consultations and workout trackers.

Bringing home and car closer together with Home-to-Car capabilities

Samsung's partnership with Hyundai Motor Group enables home-to-car and car-to-home services through SmartThings. Users can remotely control car functions and home appliances using voice commands. The collaboration with HARMAN introduces innovative technologies such as Ready Care and Ready Vision to enhance the driving experience.

Samsung focuses on security and privacy across devices

Shin Baik of the Mobile eXperience Security Team discussed Samsung's security solutions, including Knox Matrix for end-to-end encryption and Knox Vault for data security. Partnerships with technology companies tailor security and privacy solutions to users' needs.

Samsung makes progress in responsible materials, energy management and accessibility

Inhee Chung, vice president of the Samsung Corporate Sustainability Center, highlighted Samsung's commitment to a circular economy. The company is incorporating recycled materials into products and introducing initiatives such as Certified ReNewed and Galaxy Upcycling. AI-driven features like SmartThings AI Energy Mode optimize energy use for sustainability.

Samsung partners with Tesla to integrate SmartThings Energy with Tesla products to improve energy management and prepare users for power outages.

New features improve device accessibility to meet diverse needs. Relumino Together on Samsung TVs enables inclusive viewing experiences for users of all abilities.
