Doosan hosts conference for global media at CES 2024, showcasing technologies for a sustainable and safer future.

On January 8 (local time), Doosan Group held a press conference prior to the opening of CES 2024 in Las Vegas, USA, the company announced on January 9. The event was attended by more than 200 media from around the world and was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Doosan Bobcat Vice Chairman Scott Park, Doosan Holding President and Chief Strategy Officer Do-Won Kim, and Doosan Energy Vice President Yong-Jin Song introduced Doosan's differentiated technologies, including carbon-free total energy solutions and compact heavy equipment with AI robots and unmanned automation.

In particular, Doosan Bobcat unveiled the AT450X, the industry's first unmanned and electric articulated tractor with AI technology. The AT450X was co-developed with Agtonomy, a Silicon Valley agricultural new technology software company, and was shown driving unmanned through a narrow and steep winery, which received a great response from the attendees.

Doosan Bobcat then showcased the S7X, a fully electric skid steer loader that won two CES Innovation Awards, the RogueX2, a driverless concept loader without a cockpit, and an unmanned lawn mower, highlighting the company's leadership in technological innovation in the global compact heavy equipment market.

Doosan Enerbility announced plans to develop carbon-free total energy solutions including hydrogen turbines, SMRs, and wind power. Converting gas power plant fuel, which generates about 23% of the world's electricity, to hydrogen will significantly reduce carbon emissions.

To this end, Doosan Enerbility, which is developing combustors for hydrogen-fueled and hydrogen-combustion turbines, announced its vision to develop the world's first 400MW ultra-large hydrogen-combustion turbine by 2027. The company also announced its ambition to establish itself as a global SMR foundry in the small modular reactors (SMR) market based on its competitiveness in the large nuclear power plant business.

HyAxiom, a U.S. subsidiary of Doosan Corp. with original hydrogen fuel cell technology and production plants, unveiled its Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolysis system, which has achieved the world's highest level of energy efficiency. Water electrolysis is a technology that extracts hydrogen by electrolyzing water and utilizes renewable energy such as wind and solar power to produce green hydrogen.

Doosan Robotics showcased robotics solutions that are further evolved through AI. Doosan's collaborative robots, which are used in a variety of fields with sophisticated human-like movements, have evolved to learn, predict, judge, and perform tasks on their own.

As an example, Oscar the Sorter, a recycling sorting solution, was shown picking up objects and learning and categorizing the characteristics of paper cups, plastic containers, and cans. Doosan Robotics said it makes these tasks as easy as using a smartphone for developers and users alike through its in-house development software platform, Dart Suite.

Doosan is also exhibiting at CES with a 780-square-foot booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall, Booth 5941, under the theme "Our Planet, Our Future." Doosan Group Chairman Park Ji-won will visit the CES site with other executives, including Group Vice Chairman Park Ji-won, to observe the latest technology trends and explore future business directions.
