LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its new vision and exhibition theme for CES 2024, 'Reinvent your future,' during the LG World Premiere press conference at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
CEO William Cho reiterated the company's ambitious goal to transform into a Smart Life Solution Company, expanding its business into diverse spaces like mobility, commercial, and virtual environments.
LG aims to enhance the customer experience across various domains by focusing on five key elements: Care, Connectivity, Customization, Servitization, and Sustainability (3C2S). In its pursuit of innovation, LG identifies AI as a crucial enabler and has redefined it as "Affectionate Intelligence," emphasizing its potential to create a more caring and empathetic customer experience.
During the conference, CEO Cho highlighted LG's unique AI solutions, leveraging the vast dataset from 500 to 700 million LG products in use globally. Unlike many companies relying on internet-based data, LG utilizes 'real-life' data from connected devices to gain insights into customer-device interactions, behavior patterns, and emotional states. This comprehensive dataset forms the foundation for delivering intelligent and efficient lifestyle solutions.
The LG AI Brain, a powerful processing engine, plays a pivotal role in forecasting customer needs, performing advanced reasoning, and generating optimal solutions. This enables LG to deliver intelligent services and experiences across different aspects of customers' lives.
Acknowledging the ethical responsibility of using AI, LG emphasizes accountability for the impacts and consequences of its decisions. The company is committed to developing AI systems that benefit all users, prioritize safe behavior, and ensure the security of collected personal data through the LG Shield data security system.
In his concluding remarks, CEO Cho reiterated LG's commitment to customers' control and declared, "Life’s Good," highlighting the company's promise to create a better life even in the age of AI.
During the event, CEO Cho was joined by Jung Ki-hyun and Eun Seok-hyun. Jung presented LG's AI-based smart home, incorporating 'Affectionate Intelligence' into the ThinQ platform. New services like 'ChatThinQ' and '3D Home View' were introduced, along with plans for a new smart home hub.
In the mobility sector, Eun Seok-hyun unveiled LG AlphaWare, a suite of software solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDV). This includes software modules, operation solutions, in-cabin entertainment solutions, and human-machine interface solutions, envisioning cars as 'living spaces on wheels.'
