LAS VEGAS- Kia has unveiled its groundbreaking Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy at CES 2024, centered around the introduction of the modular Kia Concept PV5. The PBV vision, accompanied by a multi-phase plan, aims to transform the mobility sector and support Hyundai Motor Group's goals in robotics, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and autonomous driving.

As a total mobility solution, Kia PBVs merge purpose-built EVs with advanced software based on the Hyundai Motor Group's SDx strategy. Going beyond conventional automobiles, Kia PBVs redefine space with tailored interiors, offering ultimate flexibility for diverse lifestyles.

Kia's PBV roadmap unfolds in three phases:

Phase One: Introduction of the Kia PV5, an adaptable EV optimized for various purposes, fostering customized business fleets and software-defined solutions for enhanced cost-effectiveness.

Phase Two: Completion of the dedicated PBV model line-up, evolving into AI-based mobility platforms with integrated solutions for seamless user experiences and emerging business linked with robotics and future technologies.

Phase Three: Evolution into highly customizable, bespoke mobility solutions integrated with the future mobility ecosystem, creating life platforms within a hyper-connected world.

Utilizing 'Easy Swap' technology, a single PBV chassis can address diverse mobility needs, while 'Dynamic Hybrid' assembly enables quick in-field transformations. Inspired by robust tools, Kia's PBV design focuses on simplicity and functionality.

Kia's PBVs foster interaction between vehicles through extensive modularity, offering limitless possibilities for both businesses and individuals. Partnerships with global companies, including Uber and CJ Logistics, strengthen the PBV-dedicated business system.

Kia's commitment to sustainability is evident in its PBV design strategy, emphasizing the use of eco-friendly materials. The PBV strategy aligns with Kia's Plan S, aiming to solidify its position as a sustainable mobility solutions provider by 2030.

In a return to CES after five years, Kia presents two exhibitions: a PBV showcase in the LVCC West Hall themed 'Place of Inspiration' and an EV-focused display in the CES Central Plaza, promoting an 'All-set EV Life for Everyone.'

The PBV initiative signifies Kia's pioneering role in shaping the future of mobility, demonstrating a customer-centric approach and a commitment to sustainable, innovative solutions.
