SK Telecom (SKT) has recently forged partnerships aimed at expanding its AI-based veterinary X-ray image diagnosis assistance service, 'X Caliber,' internationally and fostering the AI transformation of the veterinary sector.
The telecommunications giant has joined forces with Vetology Innovations (Vetology), a San Diego-based medical technology manufacturer, and signed a commercial contract with Vieworks, a global X-ray medical imaging device manufacturer.
Under the strategic partnership with Vetology, SKT will collaborate with the leading provider of veterinary imaging diagnostics in the U.S., boasting a clientele of approximately 3,000 clinics. The alliance aims to leverage SKT's advanced AI technologies and Vetology's expertise in the veterinary sector to create mutually beneficial business opportunities.
Additionally, SKT has solidified its collaboration with Vieworks through a commercial contract signed on January 15, 2024. Vieworks, a renowned manufacturer of X-ray medical imaging devices, supplies its products to companies in approximately 100 countries.
The collaboration between SKT and Vieworks will see the integration of SKT's 'X Caliber' with Viework's digital radiography acquisition software, 'VXvue.' The two companies plan to unveil this integrated medical imaging solution in the first half of 2024.
These recent partnerships come on the heels of SKT's series of collaborations with companies in Australia, Singapore, and Japan in the previous year. The telecommunications company anticipates that these alliances will play a pivotal role in accelerating the global growth of 'X Caliber' in the veterinary market and contributing to the overall advancement of the AI healthcare industry.
"Through this business agreement, SKT's AI healthcare solutions will be recognized in the U.S. market and contribute to AIX (AI Transformation) in the global veterinary market," said Sohn In-Hyeok, Head of AIX, Global Solutions, SKT. "SKT will continue to discover and present AI-based solutions that appeal to the global market in various fields."
