Samyang Foods announced on Jan. 18 that it will be an official sponsor of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, which will take place from Jan. 19 to Feb. 1 in the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
The Winter Youth Olympic Games is a competition initiated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to discover future Olympic stars and spread the Olympic spirit to youth around the world, and is held every four years like the existing Olympic Games.
Samyang Foods plans to contribute to the success of the Games, which will be held for the first time in Asia, by sponsoring a variety of instant noodles and snacks, including "Buldak," which has grown into a global brand, as well as Map Tang, Kutik, and Changu, to provide an opportunity to experience the excellence of K-food and Korean food culture during the Games.
In order to make it easier for athletes, coaches, journalists, and management personnel to eat, the company will provide 80,000 products, including buldak fried noodles, buldak sauce, and map tang, in key spaces such as the athletes' lounge and media center. After the tournament, the company will also present a 'goodbye kit' consisting of buldak and map tang products to athletes returning home.
"We wish the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games a successful hosting, and we will actively support everyone who participated in the Games to create good memories," said an official from Samyang Foods.
