KD Navien (Navien) participated in AHR EXPO 2024, the largest HVAC exhibition in North America.
Navien exhibited products such as the Navien Condensing Hydronic Furnace (NPF), which was introduced last year to enter the North American main heating market, and the water treatment system, which will be launched to expand its business, marking its leap into a global HVAC company.
The International Air-Conditioning Heating Refrigerating Exposition (AHR EXPO) 2024 is being held in Chicago from January 22 to 24 (local time). It is the largest HVAC trade show in North America, with more than 2,000 HVAC companies exhibiting annually, and Navien is participating for the 15th year as a domestic industry first.
At the exhibition, Navien introduced its innovative eco-friendly and high-efficiency technologies and revealed its blueprint for targeting the global HVAC market. The flagship product is the NPF, an ambitious product developed by Navien to enter the North American main heating market, which is estimated to be 4.7 million units per year.
The product, which was first shipped in November last year, solves the problems of existing products by incorporating world-class condensing technology. Ordinary gas furnaces supply air heated by combustion exhaust directly into the room, which is very dry and can cause harmful gases to enter the room.
However, NPF delivers air heated with warm water, which solves the problem of harmful gas safety while providing comfortable air. It also features a low-vibration design to reduce noise.
NPFs are also differentiated by the eco-friendliness of condensing. It has an annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) of 97%, which is a percentage of how efficiently it uses fuel to provide heating, resulting in excellent energy savings.
It has also been recognized for its outstanding nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction capabilities by passing the South Coast Air Quality Management District's (SCAQMD) Ultra Low NOx standard.
High-efficiency heat pumps with inverter compressors are also attracting the attention of visitors. Heat pumps are cooling and heating products that utilize external heat energy such as geothermal and air heat. Recently, it has been attracting attention as an eco-friendly technology along with condensing, and Navien plans to combine it with NPF to provide heating in winter and cooling in summer.
Navien also introduced a water treatment system that manages the water used in the home to increase the comfort of the living environment. The Outdoor Gas Tankless Water Heaters (WEC600), which is scheduled to be released around April this year, is characterized by increased convenience and eco-friendliness compared to existing products.
The company also exhibited its condensing water heaters and boilers, each of which holds the top spot in the North American market. In 2008, Kyungdong Navien introduced condensing instantaneous water heaters (NPE) to the North American market, which was dominated by low-temperature water heaters, and changed the market paradigm to eco-friendly. Navien continues to hold the top spot in the condensing boiler market with a share of 31% as of 2022.
