Doosan Enerbility will supply carbon-free power generation technologies such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), ammonia blending, renewable energy, and hydrogen to Thailand.
Doosan Enerbility announced on Jan. 29 that it has signed an MOU with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to collaborate on CCUS and carbon-free power generation technologies.
Through the agreement, the two companies will apply CCUS technology to operating power plants in Thailand and establish a comprehensive cooperation to introduce carbon-free power generation technologies such as ammonia blending, renewable energy, and hydrogen.
"Doosan Enerbility's carbon-free power generation technologies, such as CCUS and ammonia blending, will be an alternative to the Electricity Authority of Thailand's CCUS roadmap," said Kim Jeong-kwan, head of Doosan Enerbility. "With this agreement, we look forward to active cooperation on various eco-friendly power generation projects in Thailand."
Doosan Enerbility is also accelerating the commercialization of CCUS technology in Korea. In 2021, it signed a technology transfer agreement with KEPCO to internalize 'wet carbon capture technology' and is considering applying the technology to the Changwon hydrogen liquefaction plant, which is nearing commercialization.
