At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, which kicks off on February 26 in Barcelona, Spain, SK Telecom (SKT) will introduce the world to future technologies based on AI innovations in various telecommunications services, network infrastructure, and real-life areas.
SKT will also expand its AI footprint to the global stage through the Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA), an alliance of global telecom companies, and collaborations with big tech companies.
SKT, which is accelerating its transformation into a global AI company, will occupy a large 992-square-meter exhibition space in the center of Hall 3, Fira Gran Via, the core exhibition area at MWC 24. The company will showcase its telco-centric AI technologies under the theme of AI as the beginning of new changes and an inflection point.
The keyword of the entire exhibition is Telco Large language model (LLM). By developing an LLM specialized for the telecommunications business and applying it to various fields, it maximizes the utility of operators and customers.
SKT will introduce various application cases such as virtual agent with chatbot, AI-based spam and smishing filtering system, and AI call center (Accu.AICC) based on Telco LLM.
The company will also showcase its existing AI-based indoor and outdoor crowd data analysis system Litmus Plus, which utilizes the Telco LLM, and plans to enhance the functionality of AI Quantum Camera, which is applied to various fields such as robotics, security, and medical.
These technologies, built on the basis of the telco-specific LLM, are expected to serve as an example of AI innovation for telecom companies.
SKT will also showcase various AI technologies utilized in everyday life, including media and healthcare. X Caliber, a pet AI diagnostic assistant service, AI Media Studio, a media processing and content quality enhancement platform, and Intelligence Vision, a biological microscope utilizing vision AI, will be available at the SKT exhibition center.
In addition, AI data center (DC) technology including next-generation thermal management liquid cooling, various network infrastructure technologies based on AI, and life-size Urban Air Mobility (UAM) that can be experienced virtually are expected to attract the attention of visitors.
Meanwhile, SKT will have a separate space to showcase its ongoing ESG projects with 15 innovative startups in Korea. Participating companies will present their ESG initiatives to solve social issues at the startup exhibition 4 Years From Now (4YFN), located in Hall 8.1 of Fira Gran Via.
SKT President Yoo Young-sang will visit MWC 24, where more than 2,400 companies are participating, to inform the world about SKT's future strategy to evolve into a global AI company, and to promote cooperation with various global partners.
