CJ CGV's subsidiary CJ 4DPLEX announced on February 20 that it has renamed 4DX Screen to ULTRA 4DX.
4DX Screen is CGV's new conceptual technology center that combines 4DX, a five-sensory experience center, and ScreenX, a multi-screen movie theater. It was first introduced in Korea in 2017 and has since expanded to France, China, Vietnam, and other countries, garnering great response from audiences.
The new ULTRA 4DX combines the technologies of 4DX and ScreenX to deliver the best viewing experience among specialty theaters. It signifies our commitment to creating synergies and aggressive expansion in the global market. Through ULTRA 4DX, we plan to provide the best viewing experience in technology theaters.
"Whereas the previous 4DX Screen meant a simple physical combination of 4DX and ScreenX, ULTRA 4DX reflects our intention to create synergy and aggressive expansion in the global market," said Kim Jong-yeol, CEO of CJ 4DPEX. To celebrate the launch of ULTRA 4DX, CGV is also hosting online and offline events. Online, CGV will host a ULTRA 4DX nickname contest from February 20 to 23, and on February 28, participants will receive a free ticket to the "Dune: Part 2" premiere.

The ULTRA MOMENT ZONE will be installed on the 7th floor of CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Korea from February 28th to March 10th.
ULTRA 4DX will be available at 10 theaters in Korea, including CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall, Wangsimni, Cheonan Terminal, Gwangju Terminal, Centum City, Daegu, Dongsuwon, Ilsan, Sangbong, and Gwanggyo.
Meanwhile, CJ 4DPLEX operates 792 4DX and 379 ScreenX theaters with 112 theater operators in 74 countries worldwide as of 2023.
