California - The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA of South Korea operated the Korea Public Relations Center at the "HAI Helicopter Association International Heli-expo 2024" at the Anaheim Convention Center in California for three days from February 27, and held consultations between Korean defense companies and major buyers.
Heli-expo is a global exhibition leading the market for materials, parts, equipment and solutions related to helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles, and more than 600 companies from 90 countries, including ▲ Boeing ▲ Bell ▲ Lockheed Martin, participated this year.
At this exhibition, KOTRA selected 10 small and medium-sized enterprises with high technical capabilities in aircraft parts and materials, drones and unmanned aircraft, and operated a public relations center. About 160 key buyers, including major systems companies, were identified and matched in advance, and a total of 147 one-on-one consultations were held at the exhibition site.
"We will actively support Korean small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the global aerospace supply chain and target the U.S. market, which accounts for about 40% of global defense spending," said Kim Ho-sung, head of KOTRA's Defense Trade Support Center.
Meanwhile, KOTRA will continue to monitor the consultation results of the participating companies to achieve tangible contract results even after the Korea Public Information Center's operation, and will actively support follow-up consultations by inviting the Korea Defense and Security Export Consultation Association (KODAS).
