Bernese Alps, Switzerland, March 2024 - In the majestic Bernese Alps of Switzerland, where the air is crisp and the snow is pristine, the Lauberhorn Alpine World Cup is a testament to the enduring appeal of winter sports. Attracting 80,000 spectators on site and 1.2 million television viewers worldwide, this historic ski race demands nothing less than technical perfection.

This year marked a milestone as Stagepro, the event's long-time technical provider, introduced a new audio solution from British manufacturer Wharfedale Pro. The decision to use Wharfedale Pro's WLA line array systems was based on their proven track record and the exceptional support provided by local distributor Sacher Music.

Markus Walther, owner of Stagepro, reflects on the importance of this partnership: "The Lauberhorn ski race is a long-standing tradition that we've been supporting for about 20 years. This year was special because we integrated the Wharfedale Pro system for a significant part of the race sound system.

Spread across three zones, the WLA line array systems seamlessly delivered crystal clear audio throughout the event. From the bustling Girmschbiel spectator area to the pulsating DJ zone, Wharfedale Pro's versatile setup handled a variety of audio needs with finesse.

The logistical challenges of the mountainous terrain were no match for the ease of use of Wharfedale Pro's equipment. "The Wharfedale Pro system proved to be easy to load and handle," said Walther. "In addition, it offers several different deployment options, making it suitable for the various zones that required audio support during the race."

The feedback from participants and organizers alike was resoundingly positive. "The Wharfedale Pro system provided perfect coverage, surprising power and plenty of headroom," said Walther. "It proved to be the right choice for our diverse needs, from race announcements to DJ sets."

With the success of their first collaboration, Stagepro looks forward to further utilizing the capabilities of Wharfedale Pro's WLA products in future endeavors. "Through the relationship with Sacher Music, it's been great to receive first-hand support from the Wharfedale Pro team," said Walther. "I'm looking forward to putting the versatility of these boxes to the test on more projects throughout 2024."

As the echoes of cheering spectators fade into the snowy peaks, the harmonious partnership between Wharfedale Pro and Stagepro sets a high bar for audio excellence at alpine events worldwide.
