Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on March 12 that it has successfully completed the '3rd Invitational Training for Vietnam Railway Safety Management Capacity Building' for employees of the Vietnam Railway Corporation.
The training, which took place from March 3 to March 12, was attended by 15 employees including Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President of Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR).
Through this invitational training, KORAIL is helping to enhance the safety management capabilities of Vietnam Railways by transferring maintenance equipment and technology. This is the third time that Korail has organized the training program, which is held four times for 15 participants per class, following two times last year (March and November).
The training consisted of theoretical education on railway operations and safety management, as well as tours of major railway facilities such as the Railway Traffic Control Center and Goyang KTX depot.
After the second training, the program was further enhanced by adding lectures on railway signaling and communication systems and a tour of the Railway Traffic Control Center in Guro-gu, Seoul, at the request of the Vietnamese trainees.
"This program, which is in its second year, has played a great role in exchanges with Vietnam," said Han Moon-hee, President of KORAIL. "We will continue to work together to participate in Vietnam's high-speed rail project."
