CJ Wellcare, a health functional food company, hosted a Colombian delegation at its headquarters on the morning of March 13 to discuss the global spread of wellness culture.
The meeting, attended by CJ Wellcare CEO Park Sung-sun, Colombian Ambassador to Korea Alejandro Pelaez, and Shirley Vega, President of CJ Wellcare's ProColombia office, focused on the development and commercialization of global health functional food ingredients, as well as exploration of the Latin American market.
Colombia, the world's second-richest country in terms of biodiversity, benefits from its geographical location where the Pacific coast, Andes Mountains, and Amazon rainforest converge. This gives Colombia a strategic advantage as a bridgehead to North America, South America, and Europe.
During the meeting, Colombia presented its current research and development efforts on inner beauty, emphasizing the use of biodiversity and health food ingredients for antioxidant health. Both parties agreed to collaborate on the development of global health food ingredients in the future.
Furthermore, given the growing consumer interest in K-beauty in Colombia due to the influence of the Korean Wave, CJ Wellcare committed to sharing information on the global expansion of InnerB, its flagship brand of K-inner beauty, along with other cooperation programs.
"Recently, K-diet and K-beauty have gained global attention for their distinctive ingredients and competitive quality," stated Park Sung-sun, CEO of CJ Wellcare. "We will continue discussions with Colombia to promote the global wellness culture through R&D cooperation on health food ingredients based on biodiversity."
Meanwhile, CJ Wellcare is introducing new wellness solutions to enhance customers' healthy lifestyles, including various dry season brands such as BYOCORE, a premium lactic acid bacteria brand, and InnerB, an inner beauty brand that pioneered the concept of "eating cosmetics" in Korea.
