LG Display has officially appointed Jeong Cheol-dong as its new CEO.
LG Display convened its annual general meeting of shareholders on March 22 in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, and elected Jeong as CEO.
CEO Jeong, who has worked across LG's component and materials companies, including LG Display, LG Chem, and LG Innotek, was recognized as the right person to contribute to the company's development with his outstanding expertise and management capabilities in B2B business and IT.
"We will maximize the results of our business structure modernization efforts and strengthen the trust of all stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, and investors, through intense cost reduction and quality competitiveness," said Kim Sung-hyun, Chief Financial Officer of LG Display.
"We have expanded the sales of order-based businesses that can be operated stably to 40% of total sales, and we will improve the company's structure by increasing the proportion of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) sales and focusing on high-end products," added CFO Kim.
