San Marino - VeChain announced on March 27 the launch of its groundbreaking platform, Marketplace-as-a-Service (MaaS). MaaS has been built to fulfill an important role within the digital asset space, providing companies and individuals with a no-code NFT marketplace platform for both digital and physical products. The platform also meets the growing demand for real-world asset tokenization tools.

To mark MaaS’ launch, the Italian MotoGP team, Gresini Racing, joined forces with ExPlus to deploy the first enterprise marketplace on the platform. Leveraging a bespoke collection of IP-related content, Gresini Racing plans to deliver NFT-based content for its large online fanbase while making use of MaaS’ simple onboarding features, highlighting the functionality and ease-of-use of VeChain’s newest product for real-world clientele and asset tokenization.

On this development, Carlo Merlini, Gresini Racing’s Commercial and Marketing Director, said, "We are delighted about our partnership with ExPlus and their work with blockchain provider, VeChain." He added, "Web3 is a new world, one that we wanted to be part of to build stronger engagement with our fanbase and, on a wider scale, the entire MotoGP community, who are increasingly digitally focused."

Gresini Racing content will be made available through NFTs and digital collectibles, facilitated by ExPlus to launch on VeChain’s Marketplace as a Service platform. Contents will feature exclusive experiences and memorabilia, plus new ways to present the exciting heritage of Gresini Racing to MotoGP lovers across the world, honoring the legacy that Fausto left to all of us.

Looking to the future of MaaS, the platform will incorporate NFC technology and enable the creation of ‘phygitals’ - a portmanteau of the words physical and digital - to allow brands, businesses, and other users to embed digital identities within physical products through chips and NFT technology, offering a user-friendly pathway to the tokenization of real-world products.

"The launch of VeChain's MaaS platform is yet another initiative that demonstrates our resolution to supporting seamless mass adoption of blockchain technology through easy-to-implement, no-code solutions," said Jake Campton, Communications Lead at VeChain. He continued, "Having Gresini Racing as MaaS’ first user showcases just that: how non-Web3 companies can enter the space easily and tap into the industry's many benefits, once more showcasing the real-world value of blockchain technology."

Gabriele Vedani, ExPlus’ Founder, and Chairman said, “Thanks to the birth of MaaS between past, present, and future, the Web3 Marketplace Powered by EXPlus is the legacy of a sporting and cultural heritage with the passion of an increasingly digitally connected community.”

MaaS sees VeChain continue its delivery of no-code blockchain tools aimed at streamlining the adoption of blockchain technology. Notably, VORJ, a no-code development platform, has offered builders and businesses a streamlined environment for deploying digital assets without coding or cost.

Use cases for this technology are wide-ranging, meeting a growing demand for the tokenization of real-world assets, most recently highlighted through Blockrock’s application for an Ethereum-powered tokenization platform. The technology holds immense promise for product authentication, provenance, proving product claims, new channels of digital communication, and more.

Who is Gresini Racing:
Founded by the recently deceased two-time 125cc World Champion Fausto Gresini, Gresini Racing has been competing in the MotoGP World Championship since 1997 and has achieved prestigious sporting results. In addition to the five world titles won with Daijiro Kato (250cc) in 2001, Toni Elias (Moto2) in 2010, Jorge Martin (Moto3) and the Del Conca Gresini Team (Moto3) in 2018, and Matteo Ferrari (MotoE) in 2019, There are also the MotoGP World Championship runner-up titles obtained in three consecutive years, in 2003 and 2004 with Sete Gibernau and in 2005 with Marco Melandri, as well as the Moto3 runner-up title of Fabio Di Giannantonio in 2018. The most recent achievement is the spectacular third place of Enea Bastianini in 2022. All of this has come on the back of 73 victories and an impressive 213 podium finishes. Gresini Racing has also produced champions such as Alex Barros, Loris Capirossi, Colin Edwards, and Marco Simoncelli.

Today, Gresini Racing faces a new challenge: for the 2024 season, the team will be looking for confirmation in MotoGP with the Marquez brothers, who have 10 titles between them. In Moto2 there is another all-Spanish line-up with Manu Gonzalez and Albert Arenas, while in MotoE Matteo Ferrari and Alessio Finello have been confirmed.

Founded in 2015, VeChain is a sustainable Web3 ecosystem that empowers individuals and businesses to drive positive global impact. VeChain's energy-efficient public blockchain, VeChainThor, provides the infrastructure for businesses and developers to build sustainable applications without prior coding knowledge.
