On March 29, Mirae Asset Group announced that Chairman Park Hyun-Joo will donate all of his 2023 Mirae Asset Management dividends.
Chairman Park has been donating all dividends received from Mirae Asset since 2010. This year's dividend donation is approximately KRW 1.6 billion, and the cumulative donation totaled KRW 31.5 billion over 14 years. In a letter to employees in 2008, Chairman Park promised to use all dividends from 2010 onward for the benefit of young people in Korea.
The donation will be used for future talent development programs through the Mirae Asset Hope Foundation. The Mirae Asset Hope Foundation was founded by Chairman Park Hyun-joo with the support of his parents. Since its establishment in 1998, it has been providing scholarships to Korean university students for their academic and personal development.
Chairman Park continues to be interested in the development of science and technology, which is the core of the Korean economy, and the development of young talents. At the end of 2023, Chairman Park pledged to donate up to 25% of his shares in Mirae Asset Consulting to the Mirae Asset Hope Foundation.
Recently, Chairman Park's family members, including his sister and nephew, donated 4.99% of their shares in Mirae Asset Consulting to the Mirae Asset Hope Foundation.
