Garam Screen took up some extra space at IMAC 2009 to display an extreme number of different sizes of metal filters. A huge screen basket, the L/T-1200 model, especially grabbed many visitors' attention. Some of them were actually caught almost falling into the center as they bent over to look inside during the interview. Some exhibitors at the exhibition floor sought to build partnerships or collaborate with Garam Screen in recognition of its global sales experience and the high quality of its products. “One of our essential strengths is that our product is very elaborate even at 0.02 micrometers. We believe that not many companies in the world have the technology we have to produce finely finished products like us with 0.02 micrometer super-finishing,” said President Hur Jung-jin.

The Garam Screen showcase presented everything from thin plate slit filters, thin plate hole filters, triangular wedge wire filters, to wedge wires, VS 11 screen baskets, plate screens, L/T 1200 screen baskets, and 30 PS Screen baskets and S24 screen baskets.

The baskets are filters, and the filters are baskets. The way it works is that whatever needs to be filtered is first put into the correct type of basket. Then, the basket is spun around at a very high speed, causing the smaller pieces of whatever is inside the basket, such as water or dirt, to be spun out of the basket. The larger items remain inside. The smaller items can be caught in a sheath surrounding the basket. Whether the company takes whatever escaped from the basket or what is left inside is entirely up to them.

Garam Screen around the World

Garam Screen was established in 1985, yet its business blossomed with exports in 2002 after a scribbled handwritten fax sent to Japan. Japanese buyers gave an immediate response and showed great interest in Garam Screen's products. Soon, the fated business deal was made. Garam products then reached Vietnam and Thailand. “We now have agents all around the world including Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. Korean products are well credited overseas. The quality of Korean products is high, yet the price is satisfactory compared to European or American products,” added President Hur. Garam Screen highly participates in foreign exhibitions and interacts with global exhibition fairs at least once or twice a month.

Quality over Cost

“Companies that persevere to produce high quality products look for high quality components and materials to finish their products. For example, this screen basket right here is mostly used in paper companies. Paper has quality, too, and high quality paper comes from high quality screen baskets. We are in business partnership with Nippon Paper, and they are completely satisfied with us,” said Hur.
