The Korean-Indonesia Green Partnership Forum

The Korean-Indonesia Green Partnership Forum is expected to increase cooperation of the two countries in various fields such as industry, environment and economy, a senior party leader said.

"As the biggest country in South East Asia, Indonesia now is able to achieve an economic growth of 6.5 percent in the first quarter of 2011," Aburizal Bakrie, patron of the Golkar Party's wing organization SOKSI, said here on Wednesday.

Besides, he said, Indonesia is also a country which is importing South Korea's resources. Therefore, Indonesia badly needs investment from South Korea, particularly in the fields of infrastructure such as ports, roads, railways and technology. "South Korea is also an important export destination of Indonesia," Aburizal Bakrie, who is also general chairman of the Golkar Party, said.

The Indonesia-Korea Green Partnership forum was set up under the initiative of SOKSI. Aburizal said that South Korea is one the biggest investors in Indonesia. South Korea's investment in 2010 stood at US$328,000,000. This is a big potential market for the two countries to develop their economic cooperation in the future.
