Minnesota, USA -July 1, 2011 - Recently, Google released a service that it dubbed, "Me on the Web," which is repackaged products that it already had. In fact, it is a service that does not serve its customers, but rather alerts them of new information on the web that may pertain to them and tells them that they must contact the webmaster if they do not want the content to be shown. Finally, Korea IT Times caught a glimpse of a hero in this privacy and web searching mess: Vizibility, a customizable search that allows its users to direct others to accurate information about them by the use of a 'Google Me' button.

James Alexander, CEO of Vizibility, set out on a mission after noticing the downfalls of Google Search, he explained, "I am a guy with 2 first names [a surname that is a typical first name] and I was trying to find myself in Google and I couldn't." Instead of accepting that his information would be buried forever among billions of search results, he devised a plan to easily point others in the direction of his information - thus solving others' problems that are similar to his at the same time.

"Why isn't there a 'Google Me' button" Alexander recalls asking himself. Today, this 'SearchMe' button can be placed on nearly any webpage, which shows those who are searching for information the top five webpages that its users specified; there is neither instance of mistaken identity nor moment of confusion. Although Vizibility does not actually change Google Search results, it helps point people in the right direction since the 'Vizibility' page rank typically appears in the first few results.

The information that Google Search reveals about people can be damaging even when a person may not match what content is found on the web. Alexander proclaimed, "We Google everything now. Before we date someone, we Google them. Before we hire someone, we Google them. These search results affect everything from personal life to professional. Even if it is not us, it damages our reputation if anything negative appears..."

Alexander continued, "..if you are a professional who is in a career and there is someone else with your name with a negative online appearance, it does have an impact. Honestly, Google is doing nothing about it." Undoubtedly, this highlights the growing requirement for everyone to monitor this information; we must not suffer due to someone else's mistakes. We cannot expect Google to fix this problem for us when it does not know how or chooses not to do so. "Having a Google profile does not change the search results," Alexander further remarked.

Alexander points out how Vizibility can help you, "The most important thing [we do] is that we help people make a killer first impression. We do that by helping them curate and manage their online identities because people are being harmed by inaccurate information... we are getting them the exact results that they want." In doing so, it gives its users control over their reputations by taking away the results of others' mistakes. This is the next best thing next to changing ones' own name -note that this is a joke!

For those who cannot determine how Vizibility is different from other services, it contains tools that are unlike any other 'Search Me' type of service, which includes: QR Code, Search Results Change Report, Button Usage Report, Alerts When Searched, and even Buy Your Name in Google -which creates a personalized Adword. These are helpful for both individuals and businesses who want to improve their online reputation; track who is searching for them; receive text message alerts when searched; provide trustworthy information to others; reduce the time people take in Google Searching their names; and increase overall satisfaction in the 'search' experience .

Vizibility is constantly working on improving its services. Alexander happily explained, "We are receiving constant improvements in reporting. We give you a map, IP addresses, ETC... it's not just like throwing out new things, but bringing out the entire experience in a powerful way." He emphasizes new functionality above everything else. Clearly, he and his company are dedicated to its users.

If you have a unique name, you may question the usefulness of this service; Remember, the 'SearchMe' button takes away the need for someone to type anything into Google Search. In addition, you are able to easily track who is searching for you; this is beneficial if you want to measure how well you are doing in catching others' attention.

Some of us dominate the search engine results, such as journalists like me, which takes away the light from others with the same name. For this reason, most people will need a service like this in order to attract the attention that they need.

For the few ladies who have my first and last name, I apologize for taking away the relevant search engine results that you deserve. I cannot change my online presence; however, I recommend joining Vizibility to change your outcome of sitting back in the 'search shadows'.

I am attempting to contact those with my name in hopes of hearing about the experience of falling lower in the search results. If I can finally make this possible, stay tuned for a special report!
