SHANGHAI, CHINA --- 2011 Asia Electronics Exhibition in Shanghai, or AEES 2011, along with the 78th China Electronics Fair (78th CEF), had its grand opening at Shanghai New Int'l ExpositionCenter, or SNIEC, on November 9th. Contrary to its previous events, visitors had to wait to enter the exhibition until the opening ceremony finished, which resulted in a packed house.

At the grand opening, Mr. Lan Wei-de, vice president at the China Electronics Appliance Corp or CEAC, gave an welcoming speech as host of CEF, afterwards Mr. Chung Jin-woo, vice president of the Korea Electronics Association or KEA, spoke on behalf of the five participating countries: Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and this was followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony.

At the opening address, Mr. Chung prefaced his remarks by appreciating that AEES, which has been co-hosted by five Asian countries for eight consecutive years, and CEF, which marked its 78th event since 1964, have contributed greatly to the development of the electronics industry inAsia. He extended his gratitude, saying that the success of AEES for 8 consecutive years is credited to the cooperation of participant governments and companies, in particular, to the efforts of the five co-hosts of the event including CEAC of China, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufactures' Association, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and the Japan Electronics Show Association.

Mr. Chung continued by saying that "This year in the Korea Hall, 45 participant companies are going to showcase and demonstrate their cutting-edge consumer goods and its parts at 90 booths.” The vice president of KEA stressed that the Korea Hall features many creative products that incorporate new ideas into common products such as ultrasonic beauty devices, a new ondol (Korean floor heating system) mat, a study assistance device, a black box, an image security system, an electronic board, a 3D smartphone, a mobile office solution and etc.

"During the event, the Korea-China sales fair is being held to strengthen business cooperation between Korean and Chinese companies by inviting 60 personnel in charge of purchase at 100 Chinese companies through a match making system in advance design to pair potential business contacts, which is expected to function as a bridgehead for Korean corporation to advance into China, where the whole world is competing.", he added.

He introduced the Korea Hall by commenting that it is featuring with various events to entertain its visitors, other than being limited to the state-of-the-art electronics technology only ; a show by Brave Girls, a Korean pop girl group with five members who are at the center of the Korean wave, a demonstration of Tae-kwon-do from Yong-In University, and a product demonstrations by 8 companies including Andys and C&Electronics. Mr. Chung wrapped up his speech by expressing his hopes that AEES will function as a venue where Asian participant companies will communicate and trade actively, which will lead to the development of the related industry and AEES. After requesting that the co-hosts, participant governments, and companies to actively cooperate so that AEES will grow as a landmark exhibition in Asia, he invited its spectators into Korea Hall

The opening ceremony was followed by a Korea Wave performance that celebrated the successful host of AEES 2011, which captured the eyes of the spectators at the Korea Hall, located at the entrance of W1 hall. Visitors were so fascinated by the exciting and exotic Korean wave that they could not leave the scene, staying even after the show. The Brave Girls took the stage first, followed by a Tae-kwon-do demonstration by Yong-In University. The show aimed to capture the eyes of the spectators to evoke curiosity into the Korea Hall to visit.

The Brave Girls, the first performers, is comprised of five girl members and the first project girl group produced by the Brave Brothers, one of the top producers in Korea. The powerful singing group performed three songs including their title track, 'Do you know me' and 'So Sexy'. Their glamorous and sexy performance received a fervent response from the visitors. The Tae-kwon-do demonstration by Yong-In University was welcomed greatly as Tae-kwon-do has gained increasingly high awareness among the spectators since its frequent appearance in Korean soap operas and it became a regular event at the Olympics. Their fame overwhelmed the audience and the fans queued after the show to get an autograph on a pine board used during the performance.

During the Korean Wave performance, spectators sent endless support. Zhou Zhi-guo, the manager of sales a department at Shengpu Instrument, continued to let out exclamations of delight throughout the whole show. The consecutive kicking by a girl or the breaking performance of pine boards with three consecutive kicks by a male performer during the Tae-kwon-do demonstration, Zhou couldn't stop wowing. Zhou Zhi-gou commented that Tae-kwon-do is hard to compare with Chinese martial arts, having different characteristics, however, he couldn't take his eyes off the unique lion-hearted spirit of Tae-kwon-do.

On stage after the Korea Wave performance, were product demonstrations from participant companies. C&Electronics introduced its multi-functional rice cooker that can cook 150 or so recipes, which attracted a huge response from the Chinese visitors who live on rice. Elwox has showcased its heat-generating ondol (Korean floor heating system) mat utilizing warm water, which can assist the Chinese to get through their winter season. EyeMax andMC Squaredrew attention with their device that enhances your concentration while studying. Other lists of the products that spectators showed a keen interests are as follows ; SEINENG with a waste disposal device through microbial breakdown that is attachable to a sink ; MECS with a soldering iron for aluminum using ultrasonic waves ; SungMun Electronics with Rotary Dip Switch which is used to control products and space ; NDIS with 3D LCD that requires no use of glasses through integrating a 3D filter to 2D LCD. The events successfully evoked the curiosity of visitors to frequently visit the Korea Hall during the whole opening day. AEES 2011 with cutting-edge products and various popular attractions that meets the needs of customers lasted for 4 days from 9th until 11th of November.
