MIC Minister Chin Dae-Je held talks with the prime minister of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa and the MIC Minster of Mongolia, Chimid Saikanbileg to discuss IT cooperation May 26 at the Kwangwha-moon government office building.
Minister Chin presented a business model for cooperation in resolving the informational gap between developed and developing countries and added during his explanation of the current situation regarding Korea's IT infrastructure that the MIC will continue to cooperate with Mongolia and give the country its full support in the field of informatization in such area as building a social security system.
He also introduced initiatives to resolve the "digital divide" with Sri Lanka such as e-Sri Lanka, a currently ongoing project for the implementation and promotion of IT infrastructure in Sri- Lanka. Moreover, he urged the Sri Lankan government and private firms to participate in this project.
