Motors, the heart of high-technology

High-tech IT, digital, smart technology, ubiquitous. These are words that are extremely familiar to people living in the 21st century. They are also the names incorporated into technology that we can easily find in our daily life. For example, it has already been some time since robot vacuums that are capable of cleaning home floor rather than humans were commercialized. We can also often see eco-friendly hybrid cars and next generation electricity-powered cars. The revolution does not end there. Intelligent robots in factories and super-precise machine long ago replaced human labor in multiple industries.

A common element of high-tech machines is a motor acting as a heart. KOMOTEK has long been developing and distributing motors and has established itself as one of the core motor companies in Korea. KOMOTEK produces a wide range of motors and their main products include Servo motor for industrial purposes, special motors for defense industry and motors for eco-friendly cars. KOMOTEK produces motors for a multitude of high-tech industries including motors for robot manufacturing, LCD semi-conductor, next generation cars, intelligent robots and super precise manufacturing robots. Their main customers and products include Samsung LCD transfer robots, Hyundai welding robots, motors and generators for Doosan infracore Hybrid excavators, Robostar Scara robot and Mirae Test handlers.

KOMOTEK is also showing a remarkable improvement in industrial development. In the defense industry, KOMOTEK began to develop and distribute various products in 1998. KOMOTEK supplied torpedo actuators for LG in 2001, linear actuators for Samsung Thales in 2003 and most recently, multi-mode seeker motors for LIF Nexone. In the civilian industry, KOMOTEK has been providing Hyundai with permanent magnetic motors for high-speed elevators since 2003, and with Brushless DC electric motors for vehicle compressor since 2006.

Big 5 in Green Car Industry

KOMOTEK’s challenges continue. The company has been concentrating its efforts on developing motors for green cars in cooperation with Korean motor companies since 2003, with a goal to become one of the global big 5 green car motor manufacturers by 2020.

According to the company, KOMOTEK’s motor technology is essential for increasing energy efficiency and reducing pollution, and it is a strategic technology required for sustainable growth.

Substituting conventional internal combustion engine parts with KOMOTEK’s motors, fuel efficiency can be increased and exhaust fumes can be reduced.

Also, KOMOTEK’s motors are positioned as the core components in the green motors market as they are used for Hybrid cars, large-capacity generators and electricity-powered cars. An official from the company said, “With the green car motor technology, we will dominate the green car market and spur the development of eco-friendly cars.”
