SEOUL, KOREA- Tourists can purchase excellent products of Korean Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at Incheon International Airport.
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) announced that “KOREA HIT500 PRODUCTS” store within Incheon Airport Duty-free shop opened on June 27.
The newly installed bazaar will specialize in promoting the products from SMEs, which is expected to open the door to the global market by offering them the opportunity. Stretching around 75m² on the 3rd floor, the store plans to display over 350 different goods which have been selected as “HIT500” by SMBA under the categories of Beauty, Fashion & Jewelry, Digital & Fancy, Health & Living, etc.
“We will evaluate and choose the best products out of 350 items based on thesales result from the new shop.” Officials from SMBA said.
Two organizations decided to install it more at the other duty-free stores, and appointed K-pop star 2AM as a Goodwill Ambassadorin order to actively market the products overseas while capitalizing on Hallyu (Korean Wave). The opening of “KOREA HIT 500 PRODUCTS” store came as KTO and SMBA agreed to work on “Cooperative SME Business Support for International Market” on May this year.
