SHANGHAI, CHINA - Approximately 2.8 million units of MC Square (a supportive learning instrument with a remote control and a wireless headset), which was initially developed by Daeyang E&C, has been sold over the past two decades in Korea. At the AEES 2012 (from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1), Human Telecom put MC Square (www.mcsquare.com.cn) on display, drawing much attention from visitors.

MC Square is a hi-tech wellness device that helps boost concentration levels for greater mental performance. As MC Square had been well received by students, this device enjoyed huge popularity for a long time.

MC Square has steadily edged up in consumer awareness as it has been put on the Chinese market for almost 10 years.

MC Square offers several different modes: concentration enhancement mode (high concentration levels are induced by swiftly stabilizing short choppy brain waves), stress easing & relaxation mode (the user is guided to taking a deep rest for a relatively short period of time), sleep-inducing mode (this can be put to use when the user wants to have a sound sleep in a time-efficient manner) and concentration span lengthening mode (When the user needs long hours of concentration to absorb as much information as possible, this mode can be useful).

Noteworthy is MC Square’s sleep-inducing mode which is geared towards those suffering from sleep deprivation triggered by stress and anxiety. Once the user uses MC Square on this mode, he or she is more likely to have a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and in a good mood in the morning.

MC Square has steadily edged up in consumer awareness as it has been put on the Chinese market for almost 10 years. However, as its manufacturer went through managerial crises, sellers of MC Square have frequently changed.

Back in 2002, Daeyang E&C, in partnership with SK Group, mounted proactive marketing campaigns in China, selling tens of thousands of MC Square. Yet, internal restructuring at SK Group resulted in Daeyang E&C’s folding of its MC Square business in China. In August of 2005, Daeyang E&C China independently resumed the sale of MC Square and teamed up with about 50 sales agencies across China. Since then, the sale of MC Square had seemed to get back on track with the record of 1,000 units in sales per month.

However, Daeyang E&C Korea’s financial hardships, caused by excessive business expansion, since 2008 led to the shutdown of Daeyang E&C China. After all, Daeyang E&C was delisted from the stock market in 2010.

Hee-seok Kim, CEO of MC Square China, kick started the sale of MC Square in Shanghai after he obtained the copyright on MC Square last year. In fact, CEO Kim served as executive director at the now-defunct Daeyang E&C. In a situation where support from the headquarters of Daeyang E&C which was then taking painful steps to delist was unthinkable, Kim Hee-seok started a business with one employee on his payroll. Yet, his company now boasts a well-built distribution network in China. MC Square China this year took part in over 10 trade shows held in Guangzhou, Xian, Nanjing, Beijing and Shanghai, raising the number of sales agencies packed with nationwide sales networks from two in 2011 to seven this year.
