Kim In, CEO of Samsung SDS, was appointed as new chairman of the Federation of Korean Information Industries (FKII) at a general shareholders' meeting held at the FKI Building in Seoul on March 10. Yoon Jong-yong, former chairman of FKII and vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, moved to honorary chairman of FKII.
Newly appointed chairman Kim has set the top four business projects for 2006 _ supports for marketing and globalization efforts of IT enterprises, fostering of growth engines, strengthening of service for FKII member companies, and policy recommendation & information offering. For the projects, FKII will spend a total of 3.9 billion won this year. Besides, FKII will launch 10 new business projects, including a prize awarding system for best software exporters, this year, Kim said.
Kim added that he will develop FKII into the most influential, dynamic and globalized IT body in Korea.
