Q: In terms of WiBro (Wireless Broadband) service, which profit model is Intel seeing at the moment
WiMAX is the only broadband wireless technology that can cost-effectively deliver personal broadband -in other words, deliver multi-megabit performance of your home broadband connection "on the go." The WiMAX service supports service delivery at mass market price points for consumer adoption - and at which service providers can be profitable.
Intel's focus is on enabling lower subscriber acquisition costs with integrated WiFi + WiMAX notebooks and mobile CE devices. Wherever you see Wi-Fi today, expect to see WiMAX tomorrow. Pairing the two will bring ultimate mobility in personal broadband.
