SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics is to launch its ambitious plan of ‘G Project’, a goal of becoming No.1 in the global home appliances market by the year of 2015.
Based on the Project, the local home appliances maker is planning to release new household electric products with all of its technical capabilities applied on a quarterly basis. The company put into the market its new TROMM washer with the world’s greatest capacity of 22kg on Feb. 19, as the first product of ‘G Project’.
‘G Project’ is the company’s success strategy to be ranked the first in the global home appliances market by putting its best technologies into making home appliances. The letter ‘G’ represents: ‘Great’ meaning the greatest capacity and the highest energy efficiency, ‘Genius’ of smart functions enabling convenient and emotional communications and ‘Good Design’ showing a firm and new design.
“’G Project’ is our plan to make the best products into which all of our technology and design capabilities are applied to keep leading the global market. We will spare no effort to make innovative products for our customers to have smart and convenient life. By doing so, we will achieve the goal of becoming No.1 in the world home appliances market’” says Jo Seong-jin, the president of LG Electronics’ HA division.

LG전자가 2015년 글로벌 가전 시장 1위에 오른다는 목표의 `G프로젝트`를 본격 가동한다.
매 분기 회사 기술역량을 집결한 가전 신제품을 출시할 계획이다. 19일 프로젝트의 첫 제품으로 세계최대 용량인 22kg 트롬세탁기를 출시했다.
`G프로젝트`는 최고 가전 기술을 총집결한 제품으로 글로벌 가전 시장에서 1등에 오르겠다는 LG전자의 가전 성공전략 모델이다. △최대 용량과 최고 에너지 효율을 의미하는 `Great` △쉽고 편리하면서 감성적 교감까지 제공하는 스마트 기능의 `Genius` △탄탄하면서 새로운 디자인을 의미하는 `Good Design`을 표방한다.
조성진 LG전자 생활가전(HA)사업본부장 사장은 “`G프로젝트`는 세계 가전 시장을 선도해 온 LG 가전의 기술력과 디자인 역량을 총집결시킨 제품을 만드는 것”이라며 “지속적으로 혁신 제품을 선보여 고객에게 스마트하고 편리한 삶을 보장함으로써 2015년 글로벌 가전시장 1등을 기필코 달성하겠다”고 강조했다.
LG전자는 세탁기와 냉장고, 에어컨, 스타일러, 김치냉장고, 오븐, 로봇청소기 등 전 분야에 걸쳐 역량을 총집결시킨 `G프로젝트` 제품군으로 세계 가전시장을 선도한다는 목표다. 기존 제품 출시 사이클보다 스피드가 강조된다. LG전자는 `G프로젝트` 제품군을 매분기 출시할 계획이다.
`G 프로젝트` 1호는 세계 최대 용량인 22kg 드럼 세탁기다. LG트롬 세탁기 신제품(모델명 F4287NT1Z )은 핸드 타올을 한 번에 100장 이상 세탁 가능하다.
신제품은 LG만의 독자 세탁기능인 `6모션`을 탑재했다. `6모션`은 다이렉트 드라이브(DD)모터의 정밀 속도 제어 기술로 섬세하고 꼼꼼한 손빨래 효과를 구현한다. 두드리기와 주무르기, 비비기, 풀어주기, 꼭꼭짜기, 흔들기 등 6가지 세탁 동작이 코스별 최적의 세탁 조합을 만들어준다.
스마트 기능도 강조됐다. 알레르기 유발 물질이 옷에 남지 않도록 세심하게 세탁해 주는 `알러지케어`, 고온 스팀으로 찌든 때를 불려 세탁 효과를 높여주는 `스팀 클리닝`, 스마트폰으로 3초 만에 제품 이상 현상을 간편하게 확인할 수 있는 `스마트 진단` 등이다.
LG전자는 `G프로젝트` 1호 출시를 기념해 예약 판매 이벤트를 진행한다. 세계 최대 용량 트롬 세탁기 예약 고객 중 선착순 2200명에게 특별할인판매(120만원 수준)를 한다.
