Seoul, Korea - LG U+, together with NexG, started to provide LTE-based integrated security solution. The two partners announced on the 25th that they successfully developed a VPN router with built-in LTE module for the first time in Korea.
The public offices that must set up presence in remote, isolated locations and connect their systems through a secured connection can easily do so with the new VPN router with built-in LTE at the least cost burden and maximum convenience in installation. The router also ensures reliability in network connectivity by providing an alternative network thru 3G dual mode during the emergency.
The VPN router can be used to control the street lights and traffic signals, monitor areas for security and disaster control and operate ATM/CD, mobile stores and digital signage, all from a remote location.
LG U+ plans to support the operation of new VPN router with 24-by-7 monitoring, maintenance by expert support staff and dedicated call center.
This co-development of new device materializes the marriage between the LTE infrastructure of telecom giant and technology by small-to-mid sized company that expected to create a blue ocean.

LG유플러스가 통합보안전문기업 넥스지와 LTE 기반 통합 보안솔루션 사업을 개시한다.
LG유플러스와 넥스지는 국내 최초로 VPN 장비에 LTE 모듈을 탑재한 `LTE 일체형 VPN 라우터`를 개발했다고 25일 밝혔다.
양 사는 `LTE 일체형 VPN 라우터`를 활용하면 유선 설치가 어려운 격오지나 원격지에 지점이 있는 공공기관의 경우 비용 부담을 최소화하고 간편하게 설치가 가능할 뿐만 아니라 긴급상황 발생 시 3G 듀얼모드를 통해 대체 네트워크로 이용할 수 있어 안정성도 보장할 수 있다고 소개했다.
`LTE 일체형 VPN 라우터`는 원격 모니터링과 제어가 필요한 가로등 관제 및 교통신호 제어서비스, 재난감시 등은 물론이고 ATM/CD, 이동점포, POS, 디지털사이니지, 감시카메라 등에도 사용할 수 있다.
LG유플러스는 효과적인 서비스 제공을 위해 24시간 모니터링과 전문인력 배정을 통한 유지보수, 전용 콜센터 운영 등 본격적인 관리 시스템도 가동할 예정이다.
LG유플러스는 LTE 인프라와 중소기업의 기술력을 결합, 새로운 시장을 창출할 수 있는 계기를 마련했다는 점에 의미를 부여했다.
