SEOUL, KOREA – LG Electronics has set out to target overseas smartphone markets including the EU and Latin America by first launching the 4G-enabled Optimus F5 in France on April 29.
The Optimus F5, one of LG’s mid-range Optimus F series, was unveiled for the first time at the MWC 2013 (Mobile World Congress), held in February of this year in Barcelona, Spain. The Optimus F series is geared towards “First”-time users of LTE’s “Fast”-speed services. The Optimus F5 packs a 1.2㎓ dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch display and a 2150mAh battery.
The Optimus F5 also features LG’s key UX functions such as multitasking function “Q slide,” which permits the user to run several applications at the same time, “Q Translator” with OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and “Live Zooming," which lets users zoom in and out while viewing a video.
Park Jong-seok, head of LG Electronics’ MC business division said, “The LG Optimus F3 is designed to help first-time users of a LTE smartphone enjoy LTE services fully and conveniently. Building on the world’s best LTE technology, LG will work hard to expand its presence in the global LTE market.”

LG전자(대표 구본준)는 29일 프랑스를 시작으로 유럽, 중남미 등 글로벌 시장에 `옵티머스 F5`를 출시하며 롱텀에벌루션(LTE) 시장 공략에 나선다.
옵티머스 F5는 지난 2월 스페인 바르셀로나에서 열린 `MWC2013`에서 처음 공개한 `옵티머스 F시리즈` 중 하나다. 옵티머스 F시리즈는 LTE의 빠른(Fast) 속도를 처음(First)으로 즐기는 소비자를 위한 스마트폰이다. 1.2㎓ 듀얼코어 프로세서, 4.3인치 디스플레이를 탑재했고, 2150mAh 용량의 배터리를 장착했다.
옵티머스 F5는 LG 만의 핵심 UX도 적용했다. 투명도는 물론 크기, 위치를 조절해 여러 앱을 동시에 실행하는 `Q슬라이드`, 카메라 스캔을 통해 문자를 인식해 번역하는 `Q트랜스레이터`, 동영상 재생 중 원하는 부분을 확대해서 볼 수 있는 `라이브 줌` 등을 탑재해 사용 편의성을 높였다.
