SEOUL, KOREA - Kim Jung-Joo, chairman of Nexon, acquired the world's largest inter-personal Lego site Bricklink.com. According to the Bricklink site, NXC (holding company of Nexon) chairman Kim Jung-Joo, who founded Nexon, acquired a Hong Kong-based Bricklink on June 5.
The acquisition price, however, is not available but likely to remain low as the company is a community website that has been run by an individual. Since Bricklink founder Daniel Jezek has passed away three years ago when he was 35, Bricklink has been run by his mother. Since the death of the founder, Bricklink has been suffering from a shortage of funds.
Bricklink started as a small community site created by a single person but has grown into the world's largest Lego trading site. Nexon, which acquired a string of large game companies such as NCsoft and Gloops last year, is actively engaged in mergers and acquisition activities.
