SEOUL, KOREA - Rocket Electric announced that it has completed the development of energy storage system for exports. ESS is a device that supplies electric power in emergency situations such as in a blackout after charging electric power on batteries in ordinary times.
The demand for ESS is growing at a rapid pace in Japan which experienced massive blackouts due to the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and the ensuing Fukushima nuclear disaster, plus a drastic imbalance between power supply and demand.
Such energy supply and demand imbalance is occurring throughout the world, raising expectations that the demand for ESS will grow rapidly not only in Korea but in many other countries.
