SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Merchant Marine is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia by opening a new container service between Korea and Vietnam.
The company announced on July 7 that together with Chunkyung Shipping, a small-sized Korean shipper, it opened a new container route that links Korea's Incheon and Busan with Vietnam's Haiphong. The new route, named "HPX (Haiphong Express)," will have a port rotation of Incheon, Busan, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Incheon.
Hyundai Merchant Marine said HPX will be offered on a weekly fixed-day basis and offers the fastest transit time between Busan, Hong Kong, and Haiphong. Hyundai Merchant and Chunkyung Shipping each will assign one 1,000 TEU containership for the HPX service.
