SHV-E400 model of Samsung Electronics will be provided as an unlocked phone. Vitzro also plans to release a variety of unlocked feature phones and smart phones. 하반기 보급형 자급제폰 쏟아진다…삼성 등 6~8종 출시
보급형 자급제 단말기가 대거 출시된다. 삼성전자와 LG전자 등 국내 제조사는 물론이고 소니와 티노모바일 등 외국 단말기 업체까지 가세한다. 보급형 단말기 출시는 알뜰폰(MVNO) 도매대가 인하와 맞물려 MVNO 시장 활성화도 기대된다.
7일 미래창조과학부와 관련업계에 따르면 하반기 6~8종의 자급제 단말기가 출시된다.
미래부 관계자는 “현재 6~8종의 자급제 단말기 출시가 예정돼 있다”면서 “단말기 선택권 확대와 함께 MVNO 시장 활성화 등도 기대된다”고 말했다.
삼성전자와 LG전자, 비츠모 등 국내 기업이 각 1종 이상의 자급제 단말기를 준비하고 있다. 소니와 중국 티노모바일 등도 한국 시장을 위한 자급제 단말기를 준비했고, 현재 테스트를 진행하는 것으로 알려졌다.
삼성전자는 지난 3일 `SHV-E400` 모델 전파인증을 받았다. 이 제품은 퀄컴 스냅드래곤S4 MSM8960 칩을 탑재했고 디스플레이는 800×480이다. 이 제품은 보급형 모델로 SK텔레콤과 KT용으로 인증 받았으나, 통신사를 통한 출시가 아닌 자급제 단말기인 것으로 보인다.
비츠모(대표 김성하)도 피처폰과 스마트폰을 대거 출시한다. 피처폰은 MVNO와 협력해 전용으로 2개 모델을 공급하고, 비츠모 브랜드로도 1종을 출시한다. 스마트폰은 2~3종을 자급제용으로 내놓을 계획이다.
외산 업체도 자급제 시장을 통해 다시 한국 시장에 진출한다.
현재 소니와 티노모바일이 출시를 앞두고 있다. 소니는 소니코리아가 지난 1월 휴대폰 사업을 담당하던 자회사 소니모바일커뮤니케이션즈코리아(옛 소니에릭슨코리아)를 흡수하며 사실상 국내 시장에서 철수했다. 하지만 프리미엄 제품 위주의 스마트폰 시장에 변화의 조짐이 나타나면서 재진출을 노린다.
티노모바일은 국내에 처음 등장하는 중국 제조사다. 국내에는 잘 알려지지 않았지만, 중국에서는 상당한 규모로 휴대폰 사업을 하는 것으로 알려졌다. 제품 수준 역시 우수한 것으로 평가된다.
업계 한 관계자는 “티노모바일 스마트폰은 외관상 국내 제조사 제품에 뒤지지 않는 수준”이라며 “감성적인 부분에서 차이가 있지만, 가격 경쟁력을 갖추고 있어 시장에서 어떤 평가를 받을지 주목된다”고 말했다.
