SEOUL, KOREA- A total of fourteen Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, were included in the Global Top-500 companies by U.S. business magazine Fortune. Among Fortune’s Global Top 500, Samsung Electronics was positioned at No. 14, up six spots from a year ago.
SK Holdings moved up from No. 65 last year to No. 57 this year, while Hyundai Motor rose to No. 104 from No. 117.
Also included in the Global Top-500 list are LG Electronics (No. 225), KEPCO (No. 235), GS Caltex (No. 239), Kia Motors (No. 252), Korea Gas Corp. (No. 365), S-Oil (No. 371), and Hyundai Mobis (No. 426).
Samsung Life Insurance and LG Display, which had remained out of the top-500 ranking last year, joined the list this year, each ranking No. 427 and No. 447, respectively. Woori Financial Holdings, which ranked No. 449 last year, slipped out of the top-500 list this year.
Royal Dutch Shell, which posted sales of $481.7 billion last year, ranked No. 1 among the top-500 companies.
