SEOUL, KOREA – The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and the Federation of Korean Information Industries (FKII) picked Fasoo.com’s SPARROW (in the general software category) and TVsori Internet’s CAST SMART V2.0 (in the multimedia software category) as the winners of May and June New Best Software Awards.
“SPARROW,” developed by Fasoo.com (a South Korean software company), is a semantic-based static code analysis system that understands the semantics of C and C++ code based on static analysis theory by automatically detecting fatal errors such as memory leaks and buffer overrun.
Contrary to the existing program testing, SPARROW is able to analyze all possible paths of a program by just looking into the source code, spotting bugs in the early stages of software development. Therefore, it allows you to develop flawless software faster and at a lower cost, according to Fasoo.com.
TVsori Internet’s CAST SMART V2.0 is a codec, protocol control technology that can reduce image latency in video conferencing to 200~500㎳. It also allows voice and video participation during live broadcasts.

5•6월 신SW상품대상에 스패로우, 캐스트 스마트
미래창조과학부와 한국정보산업연합회는 5•6월 신소프트웨어(SW)상품대상 수상작으로 일반SW 부문에 파수닷컴의 `스패로우(SPARROW)`를, 멀티미디어SW 부문에 티비소리인터넷의 `캐스트 스마트(CAST SMART) V2.0`을 각각 선정했다.
스패로우는 신택틱 분석 엔진과 프로그램 실행 의미를 파악하는 시맨틱 분석 엔진을 모두 적용해 오류를 빠르고 효율적으로 검출하는 성능으로 높은 평가를 받았다. SW 개발 초기 단계에서 보안 취약점과 품질 오류를 검출해 테스팅 시간과 오류 수정 비용을 줄일 수 있다는 평가다.
캐스트 스마트 V2.0은 코덱•프로토콜 제어 기술을 이용해 인터넷방송, 영상회의 시 화면 지연 시간을 200~500㎳ 수준으로 줄여 높은 점수를 받았다. 생방송 도중 영상•음성 참여가 가능한 점도 특징으로 평가됐다.
