According to Hyundai Motor on July 15, its 2014 Equus models will start selling at 400 out of 826 dealerships in the U.S. from this week. The 2014 Equus is a facelift model that showed off at the New York Motor Show in March.
The consumer price is US$61,920 for Signature (basic) model, while that of Ultimate (high-end) model is $68,920. The external look features a change in grills, bumpers, instrument panels, and LED fog lamps. The 2014 Equus is mounted with a variety of convenience specs, including head-up display (HUD), a multi-view camera system and a 9.2-inch monitor.
A Hyundai Motor America official said, "The basic model will account for about 70 percent in total sales of the Equus."
Equus launched into the premium sedan market in late 2010 where it competes with the Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In 2012, the Equus was sold 3,972 units, up 24 percent from a year ago. However, its sales fell to 1,527 units in the first half of this year, down 23 percent year on year.
