The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) opens the IT International Student Fair 2007, on the 23rd 25th of August targeting foreign exchange students who came to learn Korean IT. This is to exchange the culture between students' countries and to encourage the students who are getting high marks in Korea.
This event has been held for three years in a row with 500 international students, international professors, and foreign diplomats from thirty different countries. The event starts with a traditional dance and Taekwondo Performance from Kyungpook University and Keimyung University students. Next is followed by Korean IT policy introduction, international student oral presentations, and the talent show that will show the different cultures of the countries.
This year will especially deal with the parts where presents the foreign invited professor's studies. Quite a few professors have been invited to come to Korea to teach in Korean universities and have conducted case studies here. Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will participate to open an Employment Fair, which will give opportunities to foreign IT elite to be scouted and employed in those two top leading IT companies of Korea.
Yoo Phil-gye, Director of Information and Communication Policy, encourages the exchange students and says: "The exchange students in Korea are stimulating domestic universities' research and development abilities. They are also contributing a lot to the improvement of IT education environment." IT is fast-changing. Therefore, it is the exchange student homework to learn and predict the future and be prepared for the change. Korea, the innovative IT test bed therefore, will be quite helpful to exchange students who come to Korea to study.
